    TheJeffFiles.com up and running

This is jverkoey (Jeff Verkoeyen) and I have just recently gotten my domain up and running. Basically, TheJeffFiles.com is not only going to host all of my projects and things, but it will also have many tutorials for different languages and programs.

If you want to check out the site, download some games, or post on the boards, feel free to do so!

-note, I've only had the site for 2 days so far, so a lot of things are going to be updated in the coming weeks.

Also, if you would like to download my latest project (RoboCafe) as part of the GameDev Guys team for the 72hour gdc, you can find that in my portfolio, and the music can be found in Josh Rodasti's portfolio

No offense, but I think your design/colors/images are horrid.

looks cool, but I suggest you remove the welcome page, so visitors directly go to the main page.

ah, i'll take that in to account (the link thing) I could just have a redirect there i guess so it auto-refreshes to the new site....

Also, the color scheme is the result of a programmer with no artist skill doing all the design So i'm sorry about the color scheme, I tried...

I'm just saying... black background with blue links... looks like a 10 year old with a fetish for black stuff. Try picking a different color for the background or using an image.

ok, i'll do that then, like i said in the original post, i've only had the site for two days, and the .com was going to be registered soon, so I had to have something

However, I will take that in to account, and I will most likely end up redesigning the site completely (this is just temporary so that I can get everything up and running) with a better scheme. I don't want to have to resort to using a template, because I'd like to do this on my own, but if it doesn't work out, i'll just go get one

I don't mind the color scheme... the only thing I suggest is increase the font on the links a little bit to make them stand out more... maybe add some lime green/orange/yellow or something...

    Lime green: #00FF00
    Orange: #FF9900
    Yellow: #FFFF00

Sites that can pull off the black background are few and far between. Most are warez sites and they don't look good. If you're going to present material that you plan to be helpful to others, change it. There is no font that looks good on a black background, I don't care what color it is.

if you want a darker color, try going with mixes of grey, as some of the medium greys make great backgrounds.

White, yellow, and bright green. Not for web pages, though - I agree that a black site is laughable.

Pure black is evil, something like those two is perfect in my opinion.

ok, check out the new layout, only took me 20 minutes to do

i've still gotta get the portfolios section to work nicely, but i think i have an idea......

check it out, tell me what you think, I'm going to try and make it so you can customize the color layout if you'd like, so i'm going to try out a lot of different ones....
