    Zak if that's all you've got to complain about. I mean, when I think "worst weekend ever" my mind drifts towards being kidnapped by a transexual serial killer who looks a lot like John Denver, but with breasts and firmer buttocks, which may not sound all that bad until you consider that it acutally is John Denver, back again as a reanimated corpse as part of the governments plans to develop universal soldiers because George W. thinks Universal Soldiers was like, man, the best movie ever made, except the twist is to resurrect his favourite singers, and in addition to none of the above thereof and whatfor, but during the meanwhile, no that's not good english, during the meanwhile, should read during the meantime, having said that I think I've totally forgotten what I was talking about in the first place.

    1: Forget about the girl, she's clearly an ass. Find some nicer people to hang out with, and eventually you'll meet a nicer girl who would never treat you like that. Oh, and don't ever agree to meet the girl you were supposed to spend NYE with, again. She'll just treat you badly - again.

    2: Do backups. I hardly ever take backups, and I know I should start before something similar to your situation happends.

    Life does get better. Remember that.

    another tip: don't ever make plans for a big evening that don't include a definite time/destination. You're just asking to be blown off. You couldn't see that you were her backup plan?!

    now,now silvercord, one can't just kill her...that's illegal. Instead, one should fly her to egypt, and get her a cliterodectomy(surgical removal of the clitoris for the layman), then hand her to a bunch of horny islamic men.

    All of my source code is on either on CD-R, hard drive, or....well I'm not really sure.

    <sarcasm>This is just wonderful: I read this post thinking I would have an easily worse weekend, but, no, you had to outdo me even there!</sarcasm>

    The girl problem is tragic, I know: I had a girl do a similar thing to me the week before Christmas. I asked her out on a date before break and she said yes, but she never called me back. And I invested the best hours of my life in her!

    I had to spend New Year's Eve itself with relatives! There is nothing more boring than being with 6th- and 4th-grade cousins whose lives seem to revolve around television and your grandparents for several hours! And they used evil social pressure to have me come back on New Year's Day! (You try saying, "You're boring. I'd rather do something else," to your grandparents.)

    I would have just rented like 6 hours worth of Star Trek (NG or V) if I had nothing to do on New Years. Drinking on your own SUCKS and is a waste + stupid.

    Yeh and that girl is a $$$$$ by the sound of it...forget her.

    Oh and by the way, life doesn't always get better, but it always changes. Therefore things do have a tendency to work themselves out even if it means you just dont care about the problem anymore.

    Besides in 2 weeks, you'll have many more new problems to be concerned with. Just the nature of the beast.

    So, in a sense, life usuallys gets better or you simply get over it.
