    Certificates??

I am interested to take A+ exam and CCNA. But I don't know which one gonna be right for me. Which one is more suitable for beginner?? And also now I am not working in networks. I am just a student. Some said that exams gonna be very very difficult (almost impossible) without working experiences. Should I try?

you won't pass them, do you even know what ccna is? If you've never networked before you'll crash and burn, trust me im in a prep class for it right now. And as far as A+ goes, from some of your posts, i can tell you'll bomb that too. Take the classes first otherwise you're just wasting your time and your parents money.

yeah... neither are the easiest tests in the world...

here's a hint: if you did good on the SAT, you'll do fine on the A+
here's another hint: if you don't see any jokes, you'll bomb the A+
hint # 3: if you don't know what the C in CCNA stands for, you dont' stand a chance with that test

hint number two isn't "if you don't see any funny jokes..." if you read it carefully, it only says "if you don't see any jokes..."

I'm sorry if I forgot that a joke has to be funny to exist

CCNA = Cisco Certified Network Associates

    isn't it?

I want to try A+. I know CCNA is very hard. A+ concerns with Windows and computer hardware. Where is the good place to start? I won't take it urgently. I will take time until I ready for it. I think 7 or 8 months could be enough.

you can look on kazaa for test packets for A+. Thats what I did and passed the exam without ever taking any courses. I'm studying for cisco now.

Buy a decent book for the A+ test and try the examples with a computer if you can. As for the CCNA TAKE A CLASS!

A+ exam is cake. Take the adaptive exam. It is much shorter.

    I've been A+ certified since about 2001.

I think I have to re-take it in the near future to stay certified and up to date.

There are some books at Best Buy that cover A+ and also have self-tests in another. The books come in a package and they are all you need to pass the test.

    For more info: www.comptia.com

CompTIA certification is what I have and MS has now adopted it into their MCSE cert.

I don't think you have to get it updated ever. It doesn't make sense as the technology changes so fast, but an A+ cert will last forever...

it's a good idea, but unnecessary... my dad's been certified since the 80's, and he's only taken it once... A+ certification lasts forever... which really doesn't make any sense if you think about it...

the A+ deals mostly with windows... you'll still need to know a little about other OS's... like everybody else said, you can probably pass the A+ just by studying a few good books... I wouldn't try taking the test until your pretty sure you can pass it though...
