    Acer Aspire 1352XC and Linux

    Hello,
I've found the laptop stated above at a very interesting price and since it's gonna be a Linux-only system, I thought I'd ask if anybody here knows of any problems there might be with it.
Google has no answer to my question, and neither do the many sites about Linux on laptops I've visited recently.
    TIA

One of my friends got the same seires... I wouldnt recomend that laptop.. It has a $$$$ display and my friends has a dead pixel which they would not replace.. The display card capabilities are verry bad.. my old Riva TNT beats it.. and the performace is not good.. but may be its good for linux use i am not sure..

Well, I'll trust you. The Linux thing is only for harware compatibility, I want good performance anyway. I was expecting performance to be quite good actually, since it runs with a Athlon XP 2200+ and a Radeon 9200.
Now all I have to do is somehow convince my dad to give me some money to buy another one...

I too though of buying an Acer laptop.. EVen the Ferrari 3000 from Acer does not have the quality.. My friend got it and the display it too dim...

I ended up buying a Sony VAIO and i will never regret the decession i made.. It is stylish, Performace is tops,

Even the Toshiba ones are good.. Herd some good stuff about HP.. i think other people onthis board have better knowledge about laptops.. but everyone would say no to an Acer..

Well, those are the ones I've seen I can afford. I'll check on some other sites.
Ok, then, I'm open to suggestions on good but cheap laptops (are there any?).

Or whatever distribution of linux you're looking for.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Well, IE doesn't seem to be able to enter the harware site for mdk. Anyhow, I've decided that I can't afford any decent laptops and I'll wait some time, since I'm not in a hurry.
    Thanks for all your efforts
