When someone deis, what hapens to their acounts.

Seriously, when someone dies do the webmasters get informed. Most people don't give out their passwords, so how is someone going to tell them to deleat it. I gues their acounts and data just stay there taking up room, never used again for the rest of eternity Or do they eventually get deleated after 2 years of inactivity...

There is a giant funeral and the account is cremated. There simply isn't enough room on the internet to bury everyone.

What? It's not like people worry about closing internet accounts of their loves ones when they die. Unless we all wear little heart monitors and the webmaster carries around a pager to tell him whenever a monitor stops, then no. Nothing happens.

In terms of a web hosting company, your account runs out at some point (whether it be a year, or two, or whatever) so without payment your account is deleted. This applies to most other Internet specific accounts as well, email, ISP, etc...

We put their account on a boat with their shield and sword, set it on fire, and let it sail to Valhalla.

why is the account supposed to be deleted anyway?
posts and accounts should be kept so anyone can search and read them.

Although vVv didn't want that to happen. He had all traces of himself removed when he left the board for some reason.
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

He compiled a huge *nix FAQ (removed when he left), and had quite a few posts here (also removed).

Well, at least I still have 23 PMs from vVv.

"Personally, I prefer comp.unix.*, fa.*bsd.tech.*, comp.lang.* and comp.sys.* newsgroups and several mailing lists."

I suspect he still comes here as a guest, though.

    Veni Vidi Vici!
The word rap as it applies to music is the result of a peculiar phonological rule which has stripped the word of its initial voiceless velar stop.

I'm glad that punk left. No offence to anybody who liked him.
