    Back to school at 35

    I'm returning to college next semester and I am psyched. There may be a lot of people who think I am a looser at 35 but I really enjoy school and look forward to the oportunity no matter. I will be basicly starting over. Taking precalc, though I have taken calc, english composition though I have taken technical writing, fundamentals of computer science two and art which I flunked just out of high school ;(.

    It may put a hold on my ability to continue learning C++, because the CS course I am taking focuses on Java, but if I have free time I will study on my own.

    Basicly this first semester will be just to get back in to the swing of things fall semester will be when the fun begins.

    Hopefully not. When I was at university (which was up until June this year) there was a guy on my course who was in his late 30's. Very clever and talented guy. Just screwed things up the first time round.

    You definitely have my respect. At my school there is a guy in my class in his 30's and I've learned quite a bit about life from him. Things like don't worry about who is saying what about you because in the grand scheme it doesn't matter at all.

    It takes a lot to go back to school after a break and that is definitely note worthy. Best of luck to you sir.

    For studying, I belive age doesn't matter as long as we're trying to succeed. Good Luck in your school! In my school, there are about 10 students who are over 30 and they are really good not only in studying but also in socialization.

    That's because the near/over 30 crowd have been out there and now we know the more you study, the more cash you get.

    Very good decision to go back to school and I applaud you for it. Plus you are a better person than I - I have about 1 or 1.5 years left on my BS degree in comp sci - but I just can't bring myself to go back for a second degree. Plus my work hours are swing shift so it would be one heck of a semester.

    ...and because there is going to be someone talking about you or disliking you for the rest of your life. It's just people and their differences.

    My theory is this:

    If someone is saying something bad about you....live like no one will believe it.
