    Salary Confusion

I joined this call centre (part time- weekends)... I never spoke to them about the salary.. they have sent me a letter and the salary is above my expectation( i think i am understanding it wrong)... and i really dont understand it right... i dont want to ask them when i am there ..

    It says that

"Your salary will be £10,000 per annum pro rata"

and in my hours of work it says

"Your hours of work are 22 hours a week".

so does it mean that i get paid around 8 pounds an Hours.... or is it sometin else....

    thanx in advance

    that means you will take a salary of 10000/40 * 22 = £5500 a year

Minimum Wage for over 22 year olds is £4.50 and £3.80 for under that...so he's above minimum level

The average salary depends very much on region, but I think the national average is between £20k & £22K

very interesting. I also don't know why divide by 40. Total weeks for a year is 52.

Pro rata wages are normally based on a 40 hr week. So if you were doing 40 hours you would get 10k pa but you are doing 22 hrs. The maths is straightforward.
