They say that if you play a Windows Install CD backwords, you hear satanic messages. That's nothing; play it forward and it installs Windows.

I've noticed a lot of people, especially if they use GeoCities, have taken Strongbad's suggestions to heart. He's right, though: You've got to love long, pointless Flash intros.

Wrong! Everyone in the world and the aliens the next galaxy over know "gif" is pronounced (in Evan Kirshenbaum's ASCII'zation of the International Phonetic Alphabet, or IPA) /gIf/ ("hard" g, "short" i) because that's how I chose to start pronouncing it in my head before I heard anyone else pronounce it. The pronunciation /dZIf/ ("soft" g/English j sound) is completely newb.

And what's with people pronouncing JPEG as /'dZeIpEg/ ('jay peg) instead of /dZeI pi 'i dZi/ (jay pea 'eeh gee)?

    We already discussed it here

So don't start up a debate again...

    Love the argument there.
The word rap as it applies to music is the result of a peculiar phonological rule which has stripped the word of its initial voiceless velar stop.

It's pronounced with a hard g because that's how i say it and have you ever seen me be wrong?

I beat up the inventor of the gif and stole his lunch money. Instead of telling him to say uncle, I made him mispronounce GIF.

    Haha... man...

You have too much time on your hands when you go through each of Strong Bad's emails... the scrolling rap bit he does gets a bit tiring. Perhaps I should email him to change it up hahaha...

Thanks DavidP, you've wasted at least 5 or so hours of my life. =) Cheers.

After you gave me the link to the site I looked at every one of Strongbad's e-mails, mailed him a few, and checked out the rest of Homestar Runner's website. Pretty cool stuff.
