The term is called emancipation, it is declaring you an adult with all the fiscal responsiblities and some of the legal benifits and troubles as such.

The chance of the courts granting you emancipation is laughable. I'd say the bat has a better chance of getting out of Hell.

But just in case you are stupid enough to try it:

Jeez are you really this much of a nitwit to not know what you can do? Hello social services.

Yes if the courts found cause that your parents were unfit they could make you a ward of the state. But think about this also, most likely your siblings would be removed also, you would cause a rift in the family that would be ni-impossible to repair.

My mom and I argued constantly when I was 16 to 17 and a half (at which time I had already join the Marines but hadn't left yet). Thats life, sometimes the ones we love hurt us. Grow some tough skin, suck it up, and realize they are just doing what they think is for the best.

I had signed the contract but was not on active duty. Maybe once you go onto active duty you are. As far as the rest......ask a lawyer. www.findlaw.com

Seriously, asking people on an internet forum is a bad, bad idea for this kind of thing. You should really talk to a lawyer. Disinformation is spread really easily (no offense to Thantos - I mean in general) on the web, and this is a pretty serious matter, if you really want to go through it.

Some lawyers give free legal advice, and I'd think they'd be more inclined to do something free for minors, since they typically don't have much money.

If you are crying, at 17, becuase of how your dad "Talks" to you, i dont think your mentaly mature enough to be emancipated. The world would beat you silly.

(it should be realized my posts are all in a light hearted manner. And should not be taken offense to.)

Whatever - at least until leeman fixes his keyboard
