no one for ICQ? IRC?
exactly, IRC, make or use someone's bot to keep a chanell open all the time someware.
I have a suggestion...Why doesn't everyone start going to the cprogramming.com IRC? Oh yeah...We tried that already
No DirectX? You know, with win32 game programming, DirectX comes in quite handy.
I'm working with various DirectX APIs, DirectSound, DirectInput, DirectMusic, and I have to say - I'm impressed with them. (DirectMusic can do some cool stuff!)
can you get the spectrum with directsound, i.e so you know what frequencies are where and you can make cool colors dance to the music. you can do that with fmod but i've never used directsound, primarily because i suck.
I've noticed you have quite a talent for putting yourself down, silvercord :)
you're right, and I'm a loser for it, I should go back to govtcheez's basement so he can eat my other foot (and you thought he was a VEGETARIAN)
Sure... don't be afraid of DX. I know there are plenty of MS-hating people on this board who condem DX to hell because of it's relationship to MS... but seriously, check it out, lots of fun stuff.Quote:

( using my wifes account ok! )

I do not use AIM nor do I plan to. If you wish to reach me I use MSN messenger and my handle is CIA_Viper1.
I'm currently working on a rather large project in DirectX - I have no desire to learn OpenGL simply because it will not benefit me in my pursuits. Most game companies do not program for a particular API anymore, unless it is DirectX. That's the sad facts, folks - but go look at the game shelves in Best Buy or Circuit City - all DirectX, a few use OpenGL natively, but all use DirectX.
Not to mention that as much as I despise the beast of computers, COM is really some very interesting and ingenious technology. Very easy to use and very simple to understand.
my info is in sig, there ya go
the only games I can think of that has come out in the last year that has full opengl support is UT2003 and RTCW:Enemy Territory.Quote:

I am planning on learning both APIs, but currently I am learning the math I need, as APIs change, the math generally stays the same for along time.

Closed - you know the rules - or at least you should by now.
