    Deformities caused by programming....

    well, i've got two:
o Scoliosis from bending to look at the my comp screen that is always at weird angles.
o a dent in my right leg from leaning it up against the thing that holds up the keyboard.

    I'm weird. I know.

Do you have any deformities caused by programming?

Not really a deformity, but when I was younger I broke my finger when I lost a race in an arcade and hit the steering wheel really hard....

When I write at work, I rest my feet on top of my computer case - sometimes I get cramps in my leg from keeping it up there too long.

My mind has become warped after years of hanging out with programmers, watching Monty Python movies, debating the relative merits of console games vs. computer games, and trying to sort out facts from bull on this board.

Eventually I'm sure I'll get the ever-present "office ass" that so many people here have from sitting and working for years.

I've been electrocuted while working on a part that was hooked up to my serial port (yeah, I'm stupid - you don't need to remind me).

I've gotten paper cuts from leafing through books and pages full of code.

I've banged my head numerous times on the bottom of my desk while plugging and unplugging things into my computer.

I'm sure I'll end up with arthritis, but that's a hereditary thing in my case, not so much from programming.

My heart will soon jump out of my chest and throttle me for eating so much fast food (because it's easily eaten at a desk).

    Any of these good enough?

I've gotten most of my injuries from athletic activities, mountain biking and such.
Beat this though, I got a really bad burn using a butane torch, a pair of pliers and a dart to cut a trace in a satellite decoder box board...

Everybody who lives to an old age gets some form of arthritis.
I have a mild case in the third digit of my left hand, which is
very annoying, especially in the morning. Does arthritis run
    in your family?

Your heart will do just as you suggest if you abuse it long
enough. Whatever you do to yourself now at a young age
will most definitely catch up to you in your old age. Take
care of yourself now and you'll be that much better off in
the end. Easier said than done, I know, but still very true.
    It's just common sense.

Yup, sure does - really looking forward to it ::sigh::

And with the food - I know it'll catch up to me - I've been doin' a little better, both with diet and exercise. The other day after I went to the gym, I was still feeling ambitious and ran 3 miles. i'm trying to get back somewhere near where I was in high school, when I could run 5-6 miles without too much trouble.
