What I do need is a professional programmer who can answer some questions for my health project

I'm doing a little career report and the last step before writing the actual paper is interviewing someone who has the job you decided to research...I didn't really want to do this over the internet but I couldn't find any professional programmers in the community, and my teacher says email is ok, so I would appreciate if someone could answer these questions by posting, pm, or emailing me ([email protected]).

Well I don't think all of my questions have been asked before...I'll look at some of the other threads, but my teacher was very specific in what she wanted us to ask

Self taught (reading, writing programs, teaching others). I wouldn't recommend that particular path, it leads to bad habits unless you stumble upon good practices fairly early. I'm still trying to push aside the bad habits that I acquired in the first years.

Fairly typical of the field:

Not very challenging on the technical side.

Honestly: I go to work, talk to a bunch of people, try to get some work done, get called away on "critical" problems, talk to a bunch of people, eat lunch, try to get some work done, report to my superiors, $$$$$ at my subordinates, try to get some work done, finish up and go home.

On a side note, all of those questions have been answered before in previous threads exactly like this one.
