My friend owns a 2002 grand am gt. He seems to like it. Why don't you like the grand am? Did you own a modern one, or one from the early 90's? I wouldn't drop below 2002 on a grand am if I went with one.
The world is waiting. I must leave you now.

you can't base your opinion on one instance....millions of people who onwn/ed thats same grand am had a great experiance. Of course, with anything (not only cars) there will be "bad apples".

If I was set to never buy anything that I or my immidiate friends had problems with I would not own anything! literaly! I mean my friend had problems with his 2002 M5, but I would still get one.

I owned a 96 Grand Am. I constantly had problems with it. My cousin owned a 95 Grand Am GT. He constantly had problems with it. A lot of the 4 cylinder Grand Ams have very bad rough idle problems. I don't know if they've fixed it or not. They are LOUD. My cousin just bought a 2003 Grand Am GT to replace his 95. It is one of the loudest cars I have heard off the lot (with no modifications). I've known other people that have owned Grand Ams. A lot of them have the same complaint. The braking system is flawed and it will eat through a set of brake pads in 6 months or less because the brakes are not balanced between the front and rear. I put 110,000 miles on mine (on top of the 33k that it had on it) and I probably went through 6 sets of brake pads). I also spent a good $1500 trying to get the rough idle problem figured out. No luck.

    Shall I go on?

ober if that was indeed true on majority of the cars don't you think they would pull it off production because of all these complaints you talk about...it is still one of the best selling domestic car.

Two of my friends owned grand AMs a 95 and a 99, and both had good experiance with them less of the usual maintenance.

Ask your friend with the 95 how his car idles. I didn't notice it as much when I first got the car, but the more miles I put on the car, the worse it got. And I asked if there was anything published, or any recalls, and I was told there wasn't.

I'm not saying you have to believe me. I'm just saying I've had bad experiences, and so have several of my friends.

sure I believe you ober, and this is what I mean exactly: every make and model will have its problems, but you can't base your opinion on a product based on 1 or 2 bad experiances.

He doesn't have the car anymore, he has traded it in and got a new durango...but I will ask him about the idle problem.

I can base my opinion on whatever I want. What is it to you?

    This is stupid. Nevermind.
