Ok, what are some web hosts that you people use? One that is good(or decent) that's free. I've searched around but I'd also like to ask some people who know what their talking about. I've tried google but I'd like to hear what some people think.

free hosting is not usually good.
However, there are many that offer server side scripting and such. They just torment you with popups.
www.Hypermart.net is one that lets you point a domain name at their server for free. But again... popups. I use their paid service which has been very good.

what about .tk I see alot of people with free domains .tk with no popups or banners.
TK is just a free domain name: www.dot.tk
try 1and1.com - 3 years free hosting. Offer ends soon, thoug.
well i dun want popups, but I'm ok with banners... as long as its free and it won't run out.
I never said anything about popups.
There are no popups and no banners for either service.

Nice easy search this one......
Such is life.
Don't have have a webpage running from your computer (no 3rd party) you just have to have a web server?

ZakkWylde969 can you rephrase what you just said I can't quite understand you.
Cprogramming.com was hosted on Hypermart for several years. I found their service to be OK, but for what you will pay, you should be getting a lot more. The last time I checked, their most expensive packages were roughly equivalent to what you can get from a cheaper place like www.liquidweb.com or www.futurequest.com at much better rates. In the past, Cprogramming.com has been hosted by both; I found the Liquidweb pricing most competitive, but the site was down more often with them than it was with FutureQuest.
Hypermart's cheapest package doesn't give you access to PHP or MySQL databases. They also limit your number of POP mailboxes. It's fairly cheap, but very stripped down service. I'd imagine that you can find better deals than them. Sorry I can't answer your question about free hosting directly.
thanks, I'll use a free host for a little while, I need to save up some money though.
I was asking a question. Is all you need to have a webpage running from your own computer (No web hosters) is a server?
"When I die I want to pass peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did, not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car."
Zakk means you can run a web site on your own computer. You simply need to run a server program. Unfortunately, your computer MUST be on for ANYONE to access the site.
Do not make direct eye contact with me.
You're an idiot. It's an automated machine that just reads a code to you. It's so people don't sign up with 8000000 accounts and abuse the service.Originally posted by drdroid
