    Ok...

I've never known the proper context in which to use affect or effect. I'm only mentioning this, because in the other thread I just created I wasn't sure which to create. I remember asking my teacher this back in Sophomore year, but she didn't know, ironically. Could someone explain to me when to use affect and effect in the proper way?

Also, I'm fully aware of what Google can do. Thanks.

If you're fully aware of it, why didn't you use it?

Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

Affect is a verb, effect is a noun.

As crazy as it may seem I still believe in some sort of direct human contact. It's an old out of date concept, but once in a while I like to use it.

Pollution may affect (verb) the environment; the effects (noun)of this are not completely understood; and whoever'd tell you this would probably affect (verb) a condescending tone.

The goal of the 1960's civil rights movement was to effect (verb) the recognition of racial and gender equality. Outrage was the affect (noun) of those who disagreed with civil rights for all.

Note to those leaving: Please pick up your personal effects (noun) upon departure.

actionbasti, you're a clever little boy aren't you? Same goes to you Xei. It's great being able to take in all the humor of you witty people.

Thanks, UnregdRegd, for your help and willing to explain it to me.
