    I will get it when I get around to it. So long as windows stays 32 bit I don't care which version I'm on. I need to test them all for anything I write anyway.

    It'll be out in 3 years. That's quite a while in the computer world.

    I suppose if I have enough money. You know this crap is going to be loaded with so much DRM there won't be a pirated version for about a year afterwards... (not that I would do such things!)

    It's pretty disheartening that Longhorn is moving so slowly. It all sounds great now, but by 2006 will you still be so excited?

    I don't even know what will happen tomorrow....and 2006 is a WAYS off still. Many things might still change...I'm not sure why they tease us with it.

    Hype=$$

    Gotta hand it to MS, one of the best companies as far as marketing strategy goes.

    Microsoft has billions of dollars... tons and tons of resources available, a huge workforce, and a massive foothold on the PC market.

    Why don't they take some of those extra resources and start building a new Windows OS from scratch. Win64 from the ground-up.

    They wrote windows NT from ground up, with some of the original Unix programmers. It didn't take them long to $$$$ that codebase up though.

    You can write to MS and they'll send you a disc with the beta on it.

    It doesn't have the Aero (DX-enhanced) GUI or the new WinFS in it, so it's pretty worthless.
