I'm quite fond of RPGs and RTSs. Fav companies Blizzard and BioWare. Fav games Diablo II, and Baldur's Gate II.

There was no freedom, no choice about what you did really. And boring. I played over 30 hours worth of it and that was a chore. FFVII was way way better.

The best games i ever played were on the SNES, super mario cart(battle mode) and super bomber man(with 4 players).
Me and my mates used to play those for hours(sometimes all through the night like 8 hours), great fun. I never played a game since that allowed a roomful of people to play and not get bored waiting for your turn.

I'd have to say that the computer is the best console for gaming...

My fav game of all time: Total Annihilation.. it was simply the most fun and playable game, let alone RTS, ever. Go out and buy it, it's fairly cheap but it's the best.

Favorite consoles are probably Dreamcast and
SNES. Dreamcast had so many good games in such
a short life-span. Too bad it's dead; and too bad
Microsoft stole Shenmue 2 from all the North
    American DC owners.

Favorite game is Xenogears for PSX. Greatest
RPG ever. Yeah, yeah, it doesn't have as good
as graphics as the FF games--but the story/
characters are amazing. It took me more than 70
hours to finish it. I even bought the Soundtrack
    Staying away from General.

I cant belive how many people like FF, i bought FF7 and thought it the most boring rubbish ever. I mean instead of playing you just sit and watch video sequences all the time, call me old fashioned but I thought the idea of a game was to play something. If you ask me modern game's console manufacturer's seem to be more interested in showing off graphics capabilities than they are in producing good gameplay.
And now we have microsoft in the ring, damm. Yes they will force other console manufacturers to improve their machines, but with microsoft we'll probably have breaks in the game for commercials.

More people like FF8 than you might think. I certainly don't, though. The junction system was abusable to the extreme and poorly balanced, and the GF animations wasted countless hours of my life... and caused unknown damage to my thumb jamming the square button for the boost ability. The "alternative" was Drawing spells for hours, which was almost as bad. The plot appeared thrown together poorly; and the whole orphanage/Edea/Cid connection was just absurd. The ultimate enemy had no personality and you had no direct reason to hate her.

I liked FF7 quite a bit, though. I don't see how you can claim it's all video sequences; of the whole game (which takes 15-50 hours to finish) there are only something 30 minutes of video combined. It's true that the game is not solely about gameplay; that's just the route modern RPGs have taken. I found the gameplay fantastic, though - certainly it's much better than the SNES FFs that introduced me to the genre, even if character individuality was totally neglected (FF7's biggest flaw). In general the game's not quite as good as FF6 or FF9, though. FF9's my all time favorite.

I need to get Xenogears sometime. I've heard it's good.

You should get another DC. They're cheap, and
there's not many left. Besides, can you really
accept the fact that you may never be able to
play Sonic Adventure again? (SA2 will be on
    GameCube...)

Eh, amazon.com is selling new Genesises for $19.99.

I was under the impression that Sega had ceased the manufacture Genesis/Mega-Drive after the Saturn was released.

I just hate consoles! people claim that with consoles you can play games with better quality than in a computer, why don't people just get it that the resolution of a tv screen is always less than what you can get at a computer (I once played Need for Speed 4 in a 2000something x 2000something else!)

My favorite type of game is RPG, and Action-RPG
