    laugh(insanely(100) /*100 = volume */);

I'm sorry, but is it INTERNET security? if not I guess it could be Ok, but if it's for the internet...oh, man....

I remember teaching you what ping and tracert did a while back, not to mention you saying every single hit your firewall recorded should be reported and tracked, and the user of the machine jailed...something along those lines. I can just see it now: "What the...!! 'User Dean has tried to access 127.0.0.1 without authorization'?!?! HE SHOULD DIE!!!"

    >And Windows CE is actually a very good MS product. If only there were Windows CE Server.. *sigh*<

Would you run a server on Palm? CE is not a server, and sega dosn't think so.

Waa...Stop arguing guys...I mean, both things MAY have their own good things...this discussion can go on forever and it also depends on the computer you are using, different computers are build for different operating systems...So...ya...I'm tired of reading so many essays...

gamegod3001, if you thought I was being sarcastic, I was not. Exhausted, yes, sarcastic no. I think .NET developers who target several platforms are most welcome.

On that note, I just now read this ENTIRE thread.. *whew* I had only read a couple posts back when I posted. It interested me that Troll King and others on several occasions said something to the effect of "use whatever you like" and that the Linux supporters jumped on them for it. (Sure, insults have gone 'round and 'round.) However, I think that that is a part of the negative stigma surrounding Linux. It is the same stigma that surrounded the entire tech world only a few years back (and still does to some degree). The idea that one way in computers is always the best is never true, so let's not get too personal eh? (I shall attempt to adhere to my own advice but give no promises.)

Anyway, we all know that OskilianOS running on a Series X4 1.0 will enslave us all under its mighty power and superior multitasking, so why bicker over these primitive things?

    Talking RESPONSE

Now this may just be me, but I look forward to reading the posts about this topic everyday it is sort of interesting hearing everyones opinions about linux compared to microsoft. I would also like to ask anyone if they would prefer the mac now that they are using a UNIX bsed OS?

    Justin W,

here's Troll_Kings frst reply. The whole issue of microsoft v. linux is not even being discussed yet:

I plan on pruchasing all Microsoft products. They are the best. The Linux people can kiss my ass.
    that's nice...
here's his second post directed at mfc2themax. mfc' hasn't even directed a single comment to Troll_King.
I wouldn't even hire you to be a janitor. You are a ****ing bum.
    pleasant....

you see troll_king brings nothing to the table. He blindly insults, and the Linux users were defending linux against his attacks. You can probably see that there are a lot of young people who frequent these boards, and i believe that the negative "word of mouth" can be detrimental to the future of linux. I was simply trying to point out that linux has it's merits, namely the ratio of cost to performance. I would hate for someone to be influenced by Troll_King and his ignorance. I asked him to share he negative experience with linux. he simply said he was too busy, yet he has time to offer mundane insults towards mfc2themax. He offers no support for he arguments other than what he can regurgitate from articles he reads on MSDN. He's just a bitter, dark soul who craves confrontation in an environment in which he knows he's relatively safe. He's a faceless coward. i have no ill will towards Microsoft or Windows. i use windows, and i think linux's rapid development and improvement can be linked to the competition microsoft offers in the marketplace. I just grew tired of Troll_King's pointless dribble.

Mm, I did miss that.. I had read other threads recently that were filled with pointless, rather vicious insults of course... but his name IS Troll King. I would hope that most people would take any opinions on technical issues (or otherwise) with a grain of salt. But there isn't an excuse for that kind of behavior, so I'll stop grasping for one. Defend them with their arguments and stoop to their level. Don't defend and they are wise in their own eyes. What to do...? My worry was expressed for the casual reader.

(And the fact that the thread started with "MS sucks")

Why is it weird to use two completely different tools? Do you use an oven? Do you use a microwave? They perform about the same thing, but with enough differences that sometimes one is better than the other.

    Why don't you use both?

(BTW, I am not a Linux user that decided I must use Windows. I was a major Windows user who has recently discovered the benefits of Linux.)

I agree. If you have been visiting this board for some time, you will realize that Troll_King and his previous personas have been closed minded and bigoted. If I were to guess by his post, I would think that he has bi-polar disorder (my wife and one child have it, so I know what it is like). The way he switches from one extreme to the other is amazing.

Now some people have hit on the right idea. Use all tools that are available. Once you look at them with an open mind and run some tests on them, you will realize what MS is best suited for and what Linux/UNIX is suited for.

Is Bi-Polar disorder kind of like being Manic Depressive?
