Ok, so if you were a bank robber, wouldn't you want to make sure that the guy actually got back to you with the money? So why would you have the bomb actually go off?? And if you're smart enough to build a bomb, wouldn't you put a tracking device on it so that even when the time ran out and the guy figured he could get away, that you could track him down? And why, if someone else put the collar on him, didn't he just run straight to the police? Was the killer close by??

Personally I think it was murder... but it's so hard to tell.

I think what the police did was wrong.. they should have not hand cufed him.. instead as a last minute effort they should have given him some cutter or sometin so that he could cut the strp around his neck.. unless the strap was made of a conductor which when cut would blow up.... THis is insane... They handcuff him and wait for him to blow up...

You forget he was in a public area, they had to protect the people around him also. Also how were they to know the bomb was going to go off before they could disarm it.

Your patsy has been caught. If he blows up then all that evidence, inc. forensic goes with him. Hard for him to pick you out of a line up now........

    >> if someone else put the collar on him, didn't he just run straight to the police?

Oh yeah. We see it all the time, police letting someone with a bomb walk up to them and give them a big hug. Its not like the police would have shot him.......

    >>They handcuff him and wait for him to blow up...

Better than let him run around with a bomb if he does turn out to be a homicidal nut.

Remember some things are strange in the US. We send our systems all round the world. Only in the US is it a stipulation that the system cases be bullet proof......

very true and very fair... I don't fault the police for doing what they did... but I wonder why they cuffed him and sat him down... they must have known he didn't have any control over the bomb... or else they wouldn't have risked getting near him

just in case he takes too long or the police catch him, like they did

when the time runs out the guy is dead, so he can't get away... his only choice is to return with the money (and nobody following him) or die - even if he did get the police to bring him back to the radio tower, the bomber would have seen the police and ran...

imo, this sounds like the perfect crime... get somebody else to do the dirty work, and if it doesn't work, some low-profile nobody is dead and there's no evidence...
