What's the trade? If its McNabb for Holmes then personally I don't think its fair to the league. No one in their right mind who wants to win would do that. I don't think its fair to me or Kermi to take advantage of the fact Rod for some reason wants to simply field all the Eagles.
But if you guys are doing a different trade, then just disregard my little rant! :D

Just a little paranoid lately, I had two baseball leagues this year where I got screwed because the last place team made trades just for fun at the last second to the second place team (I was in first!). My favorite, Barry Bonds and Albert Pujols for a backup catcher!

The guy in last place in my FF league last season ended up trading everyone pretty much whoever they wanted, gutting his team. I still lost. He didn't pay any attention to the league the last 3-4 weeks, not subbing in players for byes, not caring about injuries.
I still lost :(
The trade does include McNabb and Holmes, but it's not limited to them. I'm pretty sure I'm willing to trade McNabb, but I get this feeling he's about to blow up, so I'm still a little unsure.

Dude, it IS simply a trade for McNabb and Holmes! A crappy quarterback who hasn't played a decent game since two seasons ago for the number one player by far in the league?? Akers doesn't change anything, he's playing for a team that isn't scoring and with only four of us, good kickers are a dime a dozen. Theres a number of equally good QB's he can have for free to pick up.
Seriously Cheez, I don't think its fair. I'd be ok with trading McNabb for pretty much anyone else, but not the #1 player. But if Kermi is OK with it, then I'll shut up... :D
McNabb had a great season last year - why do you think he was the #1 or 2 choice in so many leagues and took the Eagles to the NFC championship last year?
I think after the bye, he's going to come back strong, and RoD obviously wants him (but he wanted Akers more, for some reason)
Actually McNabb was injured all last year, but came back and played in the playoffs which ticked a lot of peole off because he didn't look so good vs Tampa Bay. Some people are picking him high hoping that he could be as good as he was two years ago.
And for the sake of argument, lets assume that suddenly he suddenly starts kicking arse and becomes the best QB in the league. At best he'll score a couple of more points on average than say Hasselback who you have or someone like Brad Johnson or Ramsey who ROD can have for free. But Holmes routinely scores QB like numbers, far more than any other running back. And a RB who scores QB numbers is far more valuable than a QB who puts up the same numbers because now you are basically starting two QB's. I could care less if it's fair to ROD, if he wants to just have fun and start all the Eagles then more power to him. I care that by taking advantage of ROD not caring you just picked up the #1 player in the league for basically nothing (yes McNabb COULD be good, but there are a lot of free QB's out there who have just as much potential and right now ARE good including Hasselback who is having a break out year) and to me that isn't fair to either me or Kermi.
But like I said, if Kermi doesn't care than I'll shut up. What sayest thou Kermi?

I picked him up for free, actually. He had a great end run on the season last year and I heard a lot of people at another board raving about him. kermi actually made fun of me when I picked him up - it was pretty funny.

Ok, I think it's a wee bit unfair that ROD's making a stupid trade to the league winner just to have the home QB. Granted I made trades to pick up Saints players earlier this season - but those were reasonable trades....
What I'm really ticked about now though is that there's no one I'm willing to drop to get the TE I need for this weekend so I'll be playing without one.
Though I have to be honest...my"full efforts" are in another league right now....which I'm winning.
Why don't you just pick up another TE? Seems pretty stupid to play without just because you can't get the one you want.

Heh, true he did get dropkicked on that one. But it was reasonable at the time, just didn't work out to well for him later. McNabb for Holmes before the season started would have been ok since it was unknown how good either would be. But now we know McNabb is risky to simply be a good quarterback while Holmes is by far the best fantasy player in the league.

No, it would be unfair either way, its just that now its bordering on no fun. You obviously already had a very good team, and now you add on an extra 10-15 points or so most weeks due to Holmes at no cost, and then the league isn't exactly competitive anymore. If you got Holmes through a fair trade, or picked him up before the season started then I'd be OK with the fact I got beat fair and square by a football guru and continue to try my hardest. But as it stands, if you start blowing us out the next two weeks or so I doubt I'll still care enough to pay attention after that.
Just for the record, I'm not accusing you cheez of intentionally trying to screw us over, I'm just saying that in the end thats what the trade is probably gonna do.

Personally if I was in your shoes I just wouldn't start Holmes until McNabb plays well enough to justify the trade. But if you still disagree with us then feel free to start him, I wouldn't hold it against ya.

I was under the assumption Warner'd be playing. I guess I assumed wrong. I don't think he'll play much the rest of the season - I'll probably ditch him.

Yeah, thats my only beef with the scoring system, a little TOO much emphasis on touchdowns in my opinion. A good player can get like a 120 yard game, but they hand the ball off to some no-name for a one yard touchdown, his only touch of the day, and the no-name will get more fantasy points.

Hey! I only won my 2 points this week (18 over RoD and a shameless 42 over Gov). And I'm only beating PJYelton by 15 overall.
What I want to know is what is RoD going to do when the Eagles have a bye? He's gonna have to drop 1/2 his team. hint: don't use as many players from the same team (You have 5). When they suck, you suck. It's fantasy football - that means you get to mix players from different teams. ;) Oh - and loose Emitt Smith, he should have retired long ago when he peaked.

Yeah, haven't had the need to get rid of any of them since wide receiver is my only real weak suit. But since noone in the league really does a whole lot of transactions, its easy for me to fill WR gaps each week off waivers without dropping any of the seven RB studs. And I can pick two great RB's each week who have great matchups and not worry if a star player is going against a killer defense. Sometimes I guess wrong though like this week with Jamal :)
