    Patenting Or Copywriteing Code?

Okeydokey, I want to hear all about it. How little code can be copywriten or patented? A Line? A Word? An Entire Program? What is the correct term for this practice, copywriteing, or patenting? Does the code even have to compile? Can concepts be patented or just source code? Tell me everything you know about it. Can I patent/copywrite a common function like cout? Can i patent/copywrite an operator like << ? How about 1 and 0? lol. ok, ill shutup now and let somebody reply. Thanks for the info.

You can't copyright code. You can copyright a program, and your intellectual property, but that's about it.
