Hey, Brosnan was pretty damn good in Goldeneye. I loved that movie (and the game, man was I good at that). The new movie was a pile of crap, though.

I can't think of an all time "best" film, the films that immediately come to mind are Dead Poet's Society and The Shawshank Redemption (but then i haven't read the book). But there are probably loads of others that i'm forgetting about.
Best bond film has to be Goldfinger, and for the bond actors i'd say:
Connery > Brosnan > Dalton > Moore > Lazenby
The Shawshank book is really close to the movie, from what I remember. Darabont does a good job of keeping them close (same deal with the Green Mile)

Yah I was talking about the really old casino royale. But I totally agree about Goldeneye, it ties in first with Goldfinger, but after that is all SC movies, TD, RM, then Brosnan. I liked Goldeneye because it was so different from all of the other Bond movies... it had a very intellectual plot with action to match, great cast and Boris Grevenchko(sp?) and Natalya Simyonova(sp?). I'm not lying when I say that this movie made me want to be a programmer. Even when I didn't know what that was(I was like 5 when it came out).
1. Pulp fiction Pulp fiction Pulp fiction
2. Shawshank Redemption-just class
3. Umm struggling oh maybe terminator ONE (for originality) or alienS for being able to rock your world. Alien was scary too though
And who the hell thought Dalton was a better Bond than Moore? Obviously a young person I guess-mustve liked the special effects better or something. Moore was a WAY good Bond, easily on a par with Connery-They just had diff styles thats all.
Lazenby was ok, and Brosnan is actually not a bad new Bond. Why do you think Dalton didnt last long? Speaks for itself really.
Live and let die-hmmm what did Dalton do to match this film? Sod all thats what.

There was always a problem with Bond having a Scots accent in a lot of peoples opinion. Moores accent was-well-perfect for the role. (TV, not books-although I bet most people never read Flemings books)
Then again, I bet most people never even knew the films were based on books
