Why not just use the search button?
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

We get new people everyday, and there is no sign that its going to stop anytime soon, so why bother.

I got 4,500 matches. What do you mean cboard isn't on Google?
    Away.

I did a search on www.cprogramming.com and then clicked on "Search for sites that link to www.cprogramming.com" and got 97 hits just for that.

Yeah, but the "sites that link to _____" thing isn't entirely accurate. I know there are a couple links to my page out there, one of which, of course, is in my signature, and Google returns no hits when searching for any of my sites.
    Away.

If I'm not mistaken google won't index php boards like vBulliten. Therefore the board isn't indexed.

If you're new to the boards, welcome and reading this will help you get started.

Why would it matter? In particular why does it matter to you?

I don't think the site should be indexed at google... Once you get one link to the board you can use the search function on the board itself.
    none...

I do programming searches on google frequently. I can't be bothered doing individual searches at each resource that may be useful.
For example, I have found useful information at experts-exchange frequently but have never used its search board.
I use google to search msdn.
I use google to search for the man pages page for c library functions.
Google searches bring up useful information from countless message lists, etc.
With a single click I can search news groups.

Currently, even though I know of cboard, I don't use it is as a searchable coding reference because of the hassle.

Also, more importantly, I'd like to think when I go to the trouble of helping someone, that it would be available to anyone searching on the same topic. For example I have recevied emails relating to old news group postings that I have made that have been found through google.

Cboard searches on a programming topic would only be a tiny fraction of those on google.

Complete google indexing would bring in many more punters as they found info on an issue they were searching for.

I see lots of positives, no negatives. Why not?

Ok. After a Google search, the problem seems to be with the session key/hash in the URLs. Apparently, this problem may be fixed in vb3 which is now available.
Several hacks to fix the problem are available here:

    Why is vBulletin used anyway?

I know freshmeat has some decent ones for free, what does vBulletin have that others dont?

    I never did get that...
