    Should I buy this book?

The Unoffical Guide to Ethical Hacking by Ankit Fadia.

It's fifty bucks. I saw it in a bookstore today. Do you think I should buy it? In addition to your vote in the poll, please give your reasons.

I flipped through one of those a couple months ago out of interest and it was very outdated. The one I looked at was published in the Xp period of windows but was based on 95.

Ever heard of a Bukkake party?

Anyway, I'd rather just go to happyhacker.org and browse the GTMHH. I used to read that a lot about 2 years ago.

Titles like that sound very corny to me, so I immediately distrust it.

Wow, from what I've seen so far, a very good site. It has an extensive collection of knowledge for beginners. This is just what I was looking for--something that is extremely newbie friendly. Thank you, Ken.

The Hacking Exposed series of books are considered some of the best books about security. Just go to amazon.com's book section and search for Hacking Exposed and then check out the average customer review for the few books in the series. Like they always say....don't judge a book by its cover, or name in this case.

Thank you, RoD. I'd like to let everyone know that I know absolutely nothing about hacking. I know a decent amount about C++, but I've never coded in C or Perl or anything like that. I know nothing about networking, TCP/IP, etc. This is the problem I'm running into. Everyone on the internet seems to assume that everyone is just about as smart as them. So, I go to a site with guides on hacking, and I can barely understand the stinking thing.

I was messing around on the www.try2hack.nl and I got to level 5. Then I am 100% lost. (Note- Moderators this site is based off white hat hacking. They don't condone illegal hacking
