Have anyone of you done any casual work before? Things like working in a pharmacy or supermarket lifting boxes or doing the register? I'm in Australia and i heard it's very important to get this kind of experience and put it on the resume on top of watever degrees you got...

they just want to see that u can do a crappy job consistently, as in the job sucks, but u didnt quit.

I've done loads of casual jobs in my time. I've filled shelves in a supermarket, worked behind the counter in a pet shop, worked behind several bars, waited tables, picked fruit/vegetables - I even worked as a safari guide in Tanzania as a favour for someone.
Have never dreamt of putting any of that on my CV.

Perhaps it also differs from where you live. I've also done such jobs when I was going to school and later university. But here in the Netherlands it isn't usual to put such jobs on your CV.
Only if you've done things which may be interesting to the company you want to work at, you could put certain jobs on your CV. For example, if you want to work in a kind of management job, it might be interesting to put on your CV that you organised things for your sportsclub or were in the committee of your music club or such things. But this is usually only done when your applying for your first job. Later it is less important and the jobs you did after finishing college or university are important to recruitment people.
But if such jobs are no use for CV, did you guys do them just for money, or perhaps just want to be productive?

Its not like im a spoiled brat ( i have to buy everything iwant from my own money).
But i never felt like working for a month in some sort of bar or whatever, i kinda make money with babysitting and fixing old comps or fixing stupid software problems (sometimes also hardware related), but these are things i do for fun and the money comes later on.
Next year im doing voluntary work (a whole year) its not to put on my CV or to earn money, its more because i like what ill be doing (that is helping ppl).

Working behind a bar can be a real blast depending on where and when. Try a summer down round the Mediteranean somewhere, somewhere people your age go for holidays.

That's the kind of thing that might find it's way onto a CV. It explains why there is a gap in your career.

When I was young, it was a money thing yeah. I needed cash for records and things. Later on, I tended to do things because they were fun as well. These days, I tend to do it as a favour for someone who needs help, (still often fun).

Sometimes not even that's the case. A lot of jobs just specify, "degree required". The degee shows that you've learnt how to learn, and that means a lot to them to.they want to know what you can do in their particular field.
I did some illegal pot dealing and washed cars. Should I put those as jobs on my resume?
