    It's time to change.

vBulletin is sooo passe. Go get Invision Power Board, it's so rad.
SD-1.com just upgraded to it, and it's like being in paradise. Ooh,
member profiles have a place for photos! Photos!!! Not that I
would ever put my photo there, but still -- there are some people
here that are conceited enough to want to do that...

It's loaded with features. Ooh, and it's free (I think. There's probably
a gimic or something, but... whatever).

    Here are some testimonials..

    ------

Not only is Invision Power Board free, it's packed full of features
that are easy to use, easy to install and from advanced user to
beginner, all your forum members will be able to use the software
quickly and without problems! It's quite simply brilliant! Invision
Board quite simply kicks the competition out of the running, the
Help Forums are simply amazing (you will get a fast and
knowledgeable response to your query) and this board would be
worth paying for, it is that good. I give it 11/10 and I'm very much
looking forward to future releases - the developers really do
listen and implement Invision Board users ideas and comments!
    Thankyou!

    -Matthew Ledger.

I just wanna say that I have never worked with a forum system
that has as many features, is as easy to administrate, and
graphically looks more pleasing than Invision Board. It truly is a
wonderful product. Thanks IPS for making such a great forum
system and thanks so much for making it free to all of us who
can't afford vBulletin (which in my personal opinion is horrible
compared to Invision Power Board). Thanks again and hope to
see more great IPS producst in the future!

    -Joe Dyer

    More Testimonials.

Really, you can't go wrong with it. We've had this board for almost
two years (tomorrow it will be 1 year, 11 months exactly). Cprog
has become mundane. It's time to evolve, man. Keep up with the
    times, brotha!

Come on, you know you want to. Everybody's doin' it.

So, whoever's in charge, you have one month to upgrade ... Or else!!

It looks pretty good, but I myself am happy with this board. Although it would make me happy if it was changed. I just don't want to cause Alex more work than he already has.

I don't see what was so great about that board to warrant such a change. I imagine that completely changing this forum program is a good deal of work for the mods. I really don't think a few more smilies and a different skin is worth that. vB works for me.

What the heck would the point be? The extra features would just take up more bandwidth.
    Away.

    >What the heck would the point be?

You're not paying attention!!! Ritalin! Eat it!

    1 - Invision is free.
    2 - It's more rad looking.
3 - More features (I doubt a "quick reply" box would take up more bandwidth).
4 - Change is always good. For as long as I've been a member
here (since early 2000), I don't think Cprog has gone this long
without a change. In these three years, I can remember only 3
different boards, and this one has been here for two of those
    years.

And I doubt it would be a lot of work for the mods. Invision offers
a vBulletin conversion tool. Besides, the mods have an ethical
duty to make me happy, anyway. So, really, "extra work for the
    mods" is a moot argument.

Hooray! First time I've ever used "moot" in a sentence.

vB can be hacked to allow both a quick reply and pics in profiles.

It looks good, and since I'm not going to do any extra work, and I'm not paying for the bandwidth... I welcome this change!

    ???

im guessing your going to reply with something along the lines of theres better ways to do it than in c, i dont care. you dont need a reason to try something new/interesting, unless its a business then you have to take the fun out of it.

What the hell is going on latley. Change change change give it a rest.
why do you care? if they dont like playing with this kind of stuff they shouldnt be here in the first place.

we dont need a new board for every standard function but why are people so annoying when it comes to something new? lighten up people.

im not trying to argue for any particular weboard software, but isnt this the board that costs money? netcraft says the sites runs linux and freshmeat.net has 80 projects for "web board", why not one of them? webmaster/long time mod around?
