    Arrow Interview with MS

A few days back,I had the the priviledge to ask Microsoft a couple of questions regarding their .net venture. Here's an excerpt from it.Hope you like it.

1.VB.net is a popular and easy to grasp language, but it does not have
the rigor of C++.net, hence is C++.net better than VB.net?

Everyone defines 'better' differently. If by better you mean more
powerful, the answer is yes. C++ is and always will be THE tool for
creating the fastest, most powerful applications. C++ and Visual Basic .NET
serve very different markets. Developers that need/want to get their
applications to market as quickly as possible will gravitate towards
VB.NET. Developers who need the greatest performance and control (at the
expense of ease of use and time) will prefer C++.

    2. For which genre of programmers has c# been created?
C# is primarily for C and C++ developers who are willing to give up a
little performance and control in favor of a highly managed
    environment.

3.Will the next version of Windows be created with the .net framework?
We are unable to comment on the next version of Windows.

    4. How does Microsoft plan to convert popular Windows programs created
by others and themselves to be shifted to the .net bandwagon?

Microsoft does not have any control over applications created by
others. It will be up to them to determine if they need or want to migrate
their existing applications to .NET. Where it makes sense, Microsoft
will be migrating many of its applications to managed code over time.

    That's all folks!
