Dutch seems very similar to German. Let me try and translate (I've never spoken a word of Dutch in my life):Quote:

Our prime minister, mr. Balkenende, also looks a lot like Harry Potter, at least they have the same hair dress. There are a lot of fun pictures with mr. Balkenende as Harry Potter. Here's one of them.
"Waar hebben ze die nou weer vandaan getoverd?" = "Where have they that now (again?) from (here/there/then?) *getoverd*?"
That's as best I can do, don't have a clue what 'getoverd' means, but I can see it's the past participle of some verb.
How near am I?
Yep, almost correct. "Getoverd" is the past of "toveren", in German "toveren" would be "zaubern".
My point is, I didn't like the whole idea of the story, so I won't bother read the book!Quote:

And I love reading...
I hate Harry Potter, mind you I have read the first two books, and watched both films, which both were pityful.
I didn't rush to get the book my mom did.. Of cource I didn't read it because the others sucked. I think I'll watch the moovies thogh.. My girlfrind absolutely loves Harry Poter:rolleyes: . Besides movie theaters are dark :D.
The new book.. I found it in the store and threw it at the display. Thank you.
I didn't rush to get the book, but I read it in 2 days when I got it :P. It was okay, but not as good as the others
 I wouldn't have the patience. And I have too much to do anyhow.Quote:

Mmm. . . looks like there's a lot of love and hate going on here.
Personally, I think the books are great. The movies don't do them justice, unfortunately.
So for all you Harry-haters out there, do you hate Harry Potter because:
1. there's no technology in the books?
or
2. you think you're too cool and on the edge to like anything that is popular?
or
3. you secretly wish that you received as much attention as the books and the title character, but sadly, you don't and are consequently jealous?
I think you got it on the second guess...Quote:

No, I just find the whole damn concept extremely childish and stupid.Quote:

Fascinating. . . out of curiosity, what part of the concept is "extremely childish and stupid?" Please don't say "the whole thing". I'm sure your intelligence is above that (as you, I'm sure, are no longer childish).Quote:

Civix is the least childish person on the boards. Check his past posting history for details.
Nice. It would be interesting to hear a more detailed argument from civix, however, so that I can see where he is coming from.
