    Food for thought

hmm.. Any ppl here have knowledge of any drugs / foods that would promote brain function? Besides actually studying and doing the stuff a student should, I think the physical facet of the mind is a much unmaximised area in most cases. So, yeah, I hear Apples are good, what else?

-Ive heard chewing gum stimulates the brain activity (keep in mind that you have to chew ALOT if you want to increase performance).
    - A few days ago we got a booklet from N&T its kinda like Nature.
Anyway since overhere the exam period was starting they had a very good article about what reduces stress and what you should avoid... And since i think that when your stressed you cant learn that well its worth trying here are some of the things that should help the stress away....
    - Coffee (when you are used drinking it)
    - Cigarettes (ONLY when you alrdy smoke!!!)
Those were two of 5 i can remember wich you SHOULDNT use to stress-out....
    -Cannabis/ greenery
    -XTC
    -Alcohol
    .
    .
    .
    .
And so on i think you get the point.

I read a paper somewhere or other that said drinking water boosts performance in exams, but only in moderation, too much results in a decrease (ie. not being thirsty is good, drinking when not thirsty is bad).

There is also evidence that listening to Mozart increases people's problem solving ability.

Caffiene, drugs etc are for the basket (or bin, whatever it is called ). Not only listening to Mozart, but listening to all kinds of music ( just be relaxing musing ) helps a lot.
A little gymnastic ( in advance ) would help the situation, a friendly enviroment with tranquility, a cup of tea and you are ready to make your way and leave the others behind!

PS: Don't forget you owe me $500!

    Well......
I don't think that Panopticon has any problem with that...
Besides, i think that he recognise the help and he won't be unsatisfied at all, because he got something that some people couldn't even imagine
By the way, tell the people out there how fruitful my advice turned out ( a bit advertise wouldn't be bad! ).

Just eat carbohydrate foods before you need the brain power. Apples do have natural sugars (fructose) in, so they are a start. Eat cereals/pasta/potatoes etc.

These release sugars slowly-all the way through your exams or what have you.

Try eating a glucose tablet or two before/during our exams to give you a boost. Nothing else.
    Such is life.

Very interesting.. Thanks for the feedback.

Hmmm Ritalin aye? Are you sure? isnt that stuff used for ppl with ADD to concentrate better... oh wait.
If ritalin quietens down ADD ppl would it help non-ADD ppl concentrate better?

Don't forget you owe me $500!

    Chocolate.

Even if it doesn't promote brain activity, at least you're still eating chocolate.

    Flawless logic; Don't argue.

Ummm...I'm not sure but I heard having sex before studying really helps concentrate on your study. The simple reason is you won't then have any nasty thouht coming into your mind, so you can concentrate on your study. Ummm...is this related anyway with brain stimulation
