OK, I was browsing around e-bay in an attempt to get some cheap software, when I saw that someone was selling MSVC++ Pro for $30! I clicked on it and was re-routed to www.m-2000.com. After browsing around there for awhile I noticed that they were selling Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise Edition for only $150!!! This just seems too good to be true, and wsa wondering if anyone else has ordered from there. If it's not some ripoff, I'm definitely gonna pick it up, but I kinda wanna know ahead of time.

Don't get it. Developers are in the process of porting code to .NET with SDK tools from beta 2, so that they can function in the common language runtime environment. Code written in VS 6.0 is not suitable for distributed software services on next generation windows operating systems. Unfortunately those compilers are not worth anything.

That does seem very cheap. Often Microsoft provides an option to upgrade to the latest and greatest versions of their software which is fairly cheap so I didn't expect to see any discounted Visual Studio products.
If the offer is legitimate, maybe Microsoft aren't going to allow developers to upgrade the Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise editions to Visual Studio.NET and they're going to be forced to by the standalone version.
It would be definity worth it if it's not a con though.
Why wouldn't they let the Enterprise customers upgrade, tho? They paid the most money, after all. Also, that's the only site I've seen with a price that low. The next cheapest is around $600, but they're normally over a grand... Oh well - if it's not a con, $150 isn't a ton of money... Plus, they have other software on their site that has prices closer to actual retail, so I don't really think it is one.

They may do. It's just this offer would provide a way to get cheap Visual Studio.NET IDE/compilers aswell. Unless these are 'special' editions that do not give the upgrade option.Why wouldn't they let the Enterprise customers upgrade, tho? They paid the most money, after all.

If you decide to order and get it I would love to know from where you got that great price. If I can get a legal copy of VS enterprise for 150$ I would be very pleased.

I saw that site too when I was browsing for MSVC++ 6.0. I thought those prices were too good to be true so I kept on going. I would also like to get it if anyone knows anything about these people.

I dunno... the site looks legit... damn... decisions, decisions, decisions...
For those not willing to take the gamble, there's a MSVC++ Pro with the library for 29.95 with shipping if you hurry up and grab it before someone else does... (note:it's not the one that's highlighted in yellow - it's way farther down the list. It's also from someone with a really good rating, so I think that one'd be safe...)

It's probably all a scam. They have Maya listed
for $140. Considering it's a multi-thousand
dollar program, I don't see how that site can
be legit. It also has 3D Studio Max listed for
cheap too. What_ever...
Staying away from General.
Hm.... those things aren't on ebay anymore - guess there was smth fishy after all. Also, that other thing has bids on it, so you can't just buy anymore...
