Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

Wow, all of you besides eibro are truly lame. Get a life and grow up. To tell you the truth, if I wanted to, I could easily give myself powers greater than an Admin on any computer in the school. All I need is access to the computer. However, I don't do this. It's called maturity. Go find some.
XSquared, i thought i was the only one that had to fight with deepfreeze. i just cheated the first day and used a dos boot disk.
golfinguy4, take your keyboard out of your a$$. not every thing is serious. sometimes lab full of useless computers is what a admin needs to actually do his job. half the time nobody really cares any way, onless you play with their sounds. everybody loves the klassic hello nurse for everything.
bios passwords are nothing, you can reset those with some programs... i tooks ones from here http://www.majorgeeks.com/showfiles.php?cat=25
also not sure if it works in console but from dos you can use some debug commands to turn it off
<little x86 anyone?>
-o 70 16
-o 71 16
-q
should reset the password. not sure if this works within console
Y34h d00dz, 1'm 1337. I love your reasoning. We need to screw around so the admins have something to do. Along the same lines, ought we to go kill some people so the cops have something to do?Originally posted by mart_man00

Wow, idiocy really does run rampant in this world.
as do unproportional examples.... how is messing a computer system within the same lines as killing someone...
hmmm, both illegal. both unethical.
Face it. Any respected member here is going to think of you as an idiot. If had any maturity, you would realize that screwing with the school's stuff is just childish.
Here's a simple puzzle for you: A is to B as C is to ___. Think long and hard; you don't have to answer right away.Originally posted by Iamien

basic fact of life, kids do things for a laught. alot do prank phone calls, techy ones goto a computer. its just a kids prank. sometimes it more than that like getting back at a BOFH but its nothing big people. it doesnt make it right, its just done. its not worth argueing over it! pranks are ok once in awhile! lighten up here people!
if they wont fix the little problem after bragging about their qualifications why not see what happens when they have a real problem. We need to screw around so the admins have something to do
yeah, the main group is called the democratic party.Wow, idiocy really does run rampant in this world.
o yeah, is it just me or are more people spending time in these(not programming) threads? its not the only board to, is every one on irc now?
Just thought I'd say in my own, errrm, defense that my little prank was done my freshmen year in highschool. It was the last day of class in my boring azz keyboarding class I was, well, boredOriginally posted by golfinguy4

My pranks since then have been far less harmless, even though deltree on windows isn't really harmfull anyway. I've done simple little things like PrintScrn on the desktop, then setting the picture as the desktop and hiding the icons/taskbar (who hasn't done that?). I've also taken the Windows network login boxes and moved them completely off screen.
Harmless pranks are just as fun, if not funner, than harmfull pranks
that's nice... too bad i'm too 'immature' to listen to your adviceOriginally posted by golfinguy4

maybe i'll care when i'm older... or not...
chew on this: i'm doing it to expose the vulnerable parts of the network to the administrators so they can tighten up security for the next generations that will be more tech-savvy...

thats what you tell the admins, not other people!chew on this: i'm doing it to expose the vulnerable parts of the network to the administrators so they can tighten up security for the next generations that will be more tech-savvy...
but sometimes a prank is what a admin needs.
So, instead of simply telling them like a normal civilized human being, you play a lame destructive prank. This wastes the admin's time fixing the computer so that he doesn't have time to "tighten up security for the next generations that will be more tech-savy."Originally posted by major_small

If you ever found a true hacking community, you would know that even hackers find this stuff amazingly stupid.
golfinguy4, do you even know a average admin? the average admin runs his supper l33t nt box and advoids everything. hes a tech support when ever he shows up to work. you ask him and you get: its not a problem, its not my problems, how did you know? i should call <insert threat here>.
which is to bad for the good admins. they can aviod little problems, but when a real problem comes up they have no choice but to fix it or hearing crap about it from his boss.
i used to have a great admin at my school but he retired, he should me alot of it! so sometimes they dont care. some of my tech teachers kept me out of trouble for "disturbing the network" (apparently when a engineering class printer doesnt work for a week or so and its need every day you shouldnt run the dam wizard even if the admin was told of this before it was even a problem (vacation)).
try finding some one that hasnt done something like this in high school/college. even the "nerd gods" did it. its just wrong if its done for no reason or every single day.f you ever found a true hacking community, you would know that even hackers find this stuff amazingly stupid.
i still dont know why we are analyzing a kids prank.
