    comp intrusion

sunday evening i checked netstat and someone was connected to my comp...
Now, i have send a mail to my internet provider called telenet with all the info bout his ip and port he\she was using date and time of event.

If they can nail this person what will happen...
Is he just going to get a ticket like when you are speeding or is it possible that he can be cut off the internet with that provider ??

(i think there has to be a initernational thing about this so if anyone has a siite with info bout it ur welcome)

    Thx in advance,

    Lamb

I doubt it was anything...half of the reason that abuse departments are slow to do anything about the emails they recieve are because people tend to overreact. "OMGMYCOMPUTERHASBEENHAXED OH NOES!!!".

I've only reported someone 3 or 4 times...the ones I can remember are

    1) Someone I pinpointed to Spain would portscan the hell out of my computer all the time, then made a few clumsy "port 1337" connection attempts, and I got him kicked from his ISP. Then about a month later I noticed my firewall logs had a few more of the same type of thing going on...tracked it down to the same area in spain, different ISP. AFAIK I got him kicked off of that one, too.

    2) Someone would stop spamming the boards @ FD, and I reported him to his ISP.

The rest were just jerkass script kiddies.

You won't accomplish a thing. In fact, I'm surprised that you even tried man. He was probably port scanning you or checking for open NetBIOS services. I did that afew months ago to someone here in Calgary and they had their printer shared(including many directories) so I printed "The matrix has you..." and stuff like that, they probably $$$$ted thier pants. Anyways, it's nothing to worry about if you had no services or servers running.
