I just got my ACT scores in the mail and I was wondering how they compare to others on this board, if any of you have 'em around.

Away.
Great job.
Excellent job. If I had that score, I'd have a great scholarship. I should be getting the results in the next few weeks; I need a minimum composite score of 30.
whats the max you can get and whats like concidered good and decent? im taking those in june i think
The maximum in any category is 36. The average is set to 21, so anything above that is at least decent if not great. A "good" score would be somewhere in the middle; maybe 29 or higher.
25, I want to take it because I think I could do better, that was a year ago

27 composite, pretty good
i also got a 1270 on the SAT
Well, I got a 1430 on the SAT's. I don't know how that translates to ACTs though.
//I forgot to post my score.
it was weird, first time i didn't finish a test, it was on the SATs and the ACTs.
1220 SAT
27 composite ACT
I figured they're good enough, I'll go to whichever college accepts me. I was accepted at some of the top universities in the nation, ranking in engineering, so I guess they were good. I could have done better probably, but I got into college, so... I took the SATs once, ACTs twice. My grades are pretty high and my course load is extremely challenging, at least that's what people tell me, wasn't that hard though. Depending on the college, grades and course load may be considered more so than test scores, but test scores are still taken quite some in admissions.
I'm still a senior in HS, I'll be graduating in ~3wks.

im looking into sunyit @ utica..i see ur at ithaca..hows it up there? im down in westchester
Do you mean the city, or my university (Cornell)? Ithaca is OK, I guess; not particularly eventful and hard to get around without a car... snows a lot, although I guess most of upstate is like that. Cornell's a great place, certainly; although very selective by the standards of most colleges so you have to have pretty good grades/scores to get in.
Took it in 8th grade and got a (I think) 23. Took it twice in 12th grade and got 30s both times. One of the English sections messed me up - I got like a 34 on the Science and a 33 or so on Math.
