after finally getting my reformat of my main HDs...

my D: drive is not being picked up. you may recall that i put all my stuff on my 80 meg caviar, and i'm having trouble having it recognized. i've tried putting it as a primary master, and the previous secondary setup... all is failing... i was wondering tho, that i could select the drive parameters manually... while trying this i saw some strange parameter listing that replaced two others... here's what it said...

Code:
WDAC280 Drive Parameters: 980 cyl * 10 heads * 17 spt * 85.3 MB
any ideas about this 'spt'? it's a WD Caviar 280 AT Compatible Intelligent Drive... It has 'MA' (master) 'SL' (slave) and 'CP' jumper settings... ideas on the CP? i think there was some strange knack that you couldn't do it as slave w/o a master [which i would understand, but it still isn't working] i'm trying to couple this with WD 8 and 30 gigs, but to no avail... on the 8 and 30's, their jumper settings are master/slave/single (no jumper)... over 5 double courses of jumper pins...

you know for a fact that i would greatly appreciate any help, so i'll stop typing such that you all have more time to respond...

and remember, it's my source on the line! when i have time i'll try to move it to it's more native enviroment... [read: a 386... ]
