    Electric Guitars

    Hi,
About one month ago, I bought and electrical guitar to start learning ( I've never played guitar before ), it's an Ibanez GRX 40, and it's here: http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar...odel=GRX40&z=y and I was wondering if someone here plays guitar and if he/she can give me any advice, I'm learning major and minor scales now, and improving my playing techniques, but I still have toooo many things to learn.

    Any Idea!
    Thanks!

I've played a lot of instruments, and I agree with what they said, practice a lot. Some other advice is to not let yourself get overly frustrated, because you probably will at some point or another.

and for the record I've played cello, violin, guitar, and piano. I was beginner-intermediate with every one.

    Thanks for the posts...
I always practice, no matter how busy I am, I have at least two hours of practice daily, and ofcourse more in weekends, and I'll the summer holidays will start here in the university in about one month, and I'll have all the time I need to practice, practice, and practice...

Perspective, You are lucky, the JS model is great... mine is a beginners model... a beginners guitar for a beginner guitarist.

BTW: How many hours do you practice daily?!
    none...

well when i had the time to play in a band (before university) i played alot. we basically did nothing but jam. sometimes upwards of 4-6hrs a day. now i try and get an hour or so in each day but it doesnt always happen. im kind of a music nut though. i have drums, 5 guitars and a 6-string bass. i play mostly guitar now but have been through phases where i concentrate more on one than the others. check out my bands music (free mp3's)

all instrumental. no drum kit, only hand percussion. guitar leads, very different sounding.

Keep playing, and do what you're doing, LEARN SCALES, learn chords, learn apregios, don't waste your time playing power chords and Blink 182 songs.

This might sound weird but learn some old metallica...
first if u know metallica 90% that others will be able to acompany since almost everyone knows at least one tune..

also metallica is not so hard but yet a better challenge then punk like blink..

ofc dont bother with load and reload..

thats how i learned and now I can play dream theather satriani vai and malmsteen.. so i guess it pays..

    I have a washburn eclipse and a ibanez jem7dbk

btw i think if u only begining u dont really need a tremolo espescially if its not a floyd-rose like..

    last thing keep praticing..

Just wail like there's no tommorow.
    v. wailed, wail·ing, wails
    v. intr.
To make a prolonged, high-pitched sound suggestive of a cry: The wind wailed through the trees.
Anyone who knows anything does nothing BUT wail.

since when keeping a floyd rose in tune cost too much?

    Do it yourself..
    its fairly easy

just do a search on the net...
    Its explained clearly..

I didn't say anything about cost...

I'm saying that is difficult hardware to keep running for a newbie.
