    Age: 20.

    Real name unavailable, see user-name.

I like most music styles as long as they're well done. Example: Classical, happy hardcore, Black/Death Metal, Trance, Techno, etc...

I havn't figured out for sure why my brain creates feelings while listening to this music.

I generally don't like blues, jazz, house etc. because it's too "randomized" - it's music without thoughts behind.

    Name: Paul
    Age: 21-30
Favorite music: Spans most genres. U2, Black Sabbath, Mozart. Esp. like rock
Why: Varies for each song -- usually melody and lyrics, if appropriate, are catchy.
Hate: All rap, most pop, some country
Why: Rap -- rap just sounds dumb, pop is usually sappy drivel, and some country is just too "hardcore country" for my tastes.

Thought you might be interested in this...

People react to music in a pre-determined way. They usually contain things like sustained chords (chords missing a vital ingredient basically). The human brain knows how this chord should sound and it puts the listener into a state of suspense waiting for a "full" chord, which provides release, obviously. I guess they're just playing with us

I did a sound engineering course a while ago, and there is some seriously cool stuff you can do with music. Put a few people into a sound booth and you can play sounds which make them all lean left, right or even fall over... there is even specific frequencies that reverberate at the fundamental frequency of the human ear canal... infinitely amplifying the sound till the ear-drum pops... hehe
