    Hi everyone...
I received a mail from my future University from UK.."Teesside Univ, Middlesbrough".

They gave me the option of choosing the following modules..(other modules such as VR, game development are not offered to me ciz i dont have the pre-requisits). I dont know what most of the modules deal with.. wheather they are theory or coding etc etc.... Could some one here please throw some light on what these modules deal with..

    Semester 1:
Advanced World Wide Web (double module, i.e. studied over 2 semesters)

    Database Systems
    Information Systems Management
EITHER Networks and Communications OR Networks and Net Management
    Object Technology 1
    User Interfaces
    Advanced C Programming

    Semester 2:
Advanced World Wide Web (see comment above)
    Business On-Line
Computer Security (must have studied Networks and Net Management or Networks
    and Communications in Sem 1)
    Expert Systems
    Group Project
    Language Systems
Object Technology 2 (must have studied Object Technology 1 in Semester 1)
Personal Software Process (must also study Group Project module)
    Real Time Development
    System Design Methodologies
    Virtual Reality for the Web

I have to choose 5 modules for each sem...

I would suggest talking with people at that school, especially ones that have taken the classes to get their opinion. I dont know about everyone else, but some of those classes aren't even offered at my school, they probably all are, but are different names, like ex: what is "group project" what are you doing there, one big group project on what? Talk with people locally, then make your own decision. I hate when people tell me to take $$$$ i dont need. Unless you take classes that you are interested in, you wont perform your best, you wont want to be there.

Surely they should have sent you a booklet or something that gives a breakdown of all the modules offered by the department? That's what we get from my uni. It gives a description of the material covered, amount of lecturing time per week and how it is assessed etc. I know you live abroad but still they should provide you with something like that.

They should have an Indian Student Association there !!! Just hunt around. I'm sure you'll find something.

You might want to email or call them up to find out more about those modules?

Does the U have any websites? Try browsing their web if they have one and if everything else failed then calling them should be the last resort.

    Good luck.
