MethodMan came up with this name for my web design business: Smacky Design. I like it because it sounds both fun and professional, and it's made up of my name (Sean MACKrorY). So tell me if you like it or not. Here's the information:

Look Dude, stick with Macrory Design. Its original and it isnt all kidy. It has the potential to be a mature experianced >SOUNDING< design name.

not everything is in a name, just because you don't have the perfect name doesn't mean your business won't do well

Sounds like a joker to me. If I was looking for a contractor and saw that name, I would skip to the next.

The name sounds funny. It's pretty amusing. And it would be great to have people come to you for your business EVEN THOUGH you have this funny name, and do things your way.
So remember kids, if you want to go somewhere, you never get your way. (Which makes sense, because you have to put yourself in the shoes of your target audience)

There is a lot to do with the name. If you were looking throught the phone book and saw two companies.
One with a nice name and logo, the other with a dull name and small logo. It don't matter how good the people in the dull named company are if nobody uses them.
What I am saying is in business image is everything.

To tell you the truth, Smacky Design reminds me of some little kid sitting in a high-chair smacking on food falling out of his/her mouth. To be honest, I also believe that many business's will not take yours seriousely if they see it advertised. Also, I think that your name requires some sort of direction to what you design. For example:
Mackrory Web Design, Inc.
Mackrory Software, Inc.
Mackrory Electronics, Inc.
Then when advertising you usually put the things that you mainly do under your name as bullets or something flashy that its easy to understand, and to-the-point. Text-Examples:
Mackrory Web Design, Inc.
-HTML,PHP, ASP, Java, ActiveX
-Graphical Design
-Domain Hosting
Mackrory Software, Inc.
-MFC, ATL, C/C++, Assembly.
-Industry Leading Technology.
"Mackrory, we get you where your business needs. Fast."
Etc.
Mackrory Electronics, Inc.
-Electronics Supply.
-Wholesale.

Hmm... I guess people don't like it anyhow. For a variety of reasons (which are at FD, I'm too lazy right now), I'm going with Mackrory Web Design, at www.mackrory.com (as soon as I hear back from all the other Mackrory's I know of), so speak now, or forever hold you peace.
