    Question Safe Mode on FreeBsd

ok. im a reseller on a freebsd system. They have the very atest versions of PHP, perl etc. But they have safe mode turned on meaning i cant do anything terrably useful.

As i dont have root access, i cant just alter the settings of this. So what i'm wondering i this,

is there anyway i can get around the safe mode restrictions?
or is it time to find a better host?

    TIA

    Hi,

I don't know about a safe mode of PHP and perl... I assume you want to run those as cgi scripts on request of the html server. Usually such scripts are run under a user called "nobody", so you can only read/write files which have read/write permission for the world.
