    post tax

    The outline of the tax is as follows:

    For users posting under 10 times, the fee is 25 cents per 10 posts.

    For users posting between 10 and 100 times, the fee is 30 cents per 40 posts.

    For users posting between 100 and 1000 times, the fee is 40 cents per 70 posts.

    For users posting over 1000 times, the fee is 30 cents per 100 posts, and an additional flat fee of $25.
    it seems to me that this will discourage people from helping other people. why would one 'pay' to help someone else. i like helping others on this board and appreciate the help i get in return, however, i simply dont have the resources to sustain these actions. i understand running this site is not free, but maybe the admin should consider other cutbacks rather than a post tax. ie) dont host attachments, dont keep backlogs online as long...etc.

    just a thought. what does everyone else think?

    Actually I've been meanign to make a post somewhat about this post tax idea.

    As you all know this is a very busy site and it takes quite a bit of bandwidth. This of course means money. For a longtime the site has been hovering on the edge of breaking even thanks to banner ads, well, close enough that it has been worth the money to keep the site up. However, due to increased traffic and lw banner add pay due to the economy and the war on terror the site is costing the webmaster quite a bit.

    Therefore we will soon be impementing a "tax" of sorts. Members will be asked to pay $5 on registration (everyone who is already registered will get an e-mail with the request), and in order to move on to a customizeable title once a user has 100 posts (number reduced) everyone will be asked to pay $10 to get the title privilages.

    You will be able to pay via PayPal, standard crewit card info, or certified check.

    Sorry about this everyone, but we want to keep the site up!
