Thread: Aureal Vortex 2

Hi,

Does any one have xp drivers for the Aureal Vortex 2 sound card, im having a lot of hardware probs in xp, and i cant find this driver anywhere i got 1 for 2000 that woudnt work on xp.

Do you perchance have a VIA chipset for your motherboard as this is the one of the things that causes problems with the aureal vortex 2 (i am using one and it works fine but i have an intel chipset) - aureal sold up a while ago - i think nvidia bought them.

i did have one problem when i installed xp in that the audio codecs did not install correctly so i had no systems sounds however after reinstalling xp again over the top this then reinstalled the codecs (uninstalling the sound devices and then readding did not solve the problem)

Under sound devices you should have audio codecs, the aureal vortex 8830 (WDM), aureal vortex game port two legacy devices, video codecs and a media control - if these arent all there then it may be that sound did not even install properly so reinstall xp over the top.
