Question What type of 3D game to make ?

Hi, I am writing a 3D game in VC++6 using OpenGL and DirectX. This is to be my first game and so I want it to be a bit easy to write and not too big. Also, I want that it be so that I show it to my frendz and others, and it should have something new (not PACMAN 3D or ....)

What would be the best for me ?

i'm going to make an RPG, although it's not going to be done in 3d for another 5 years... The 2d game should be out in 2 though.

good luck, man, and don't get discouraged.

Why, is game programming hard? I know nothing about it. Sounds interesting though.

Wouldn't that be a hard program? Was is it like to program DirectX and OpenGL? Curious.

it takes some serious learning and dedication.. i've seen some openGL code, it looks rough. You can get wrappers for DX that are supposed to make it userfriendly, but, who knows?
