i am quite the opposite: i had a rather original idea for an RP system and i'm in the process of making it a reality.
I disagree with Elus, I think that programming games becomes easy when you make your own library that makes things just the way you want.
You could make Flight Simulator 2002 and sell it to Microsoft, I have the box design, check it out.

making a professional game costs about a million dollars. You need architects, programmers, motion picture studios, engineers, blah, blah....
well, making a 3d game that is professional takes 20 years, or 1 million dollars...
Ron Biskup made the best RPG ever (ADOM) by himself... it took him two years, and it's a rougelike.
To me the hardest part of game programming is not so much the programming language, but the math and the physics behind it all. My education sucked in those two areas so i don't know Jack****t about 'em. And i know there vital for programming.
