I don't like that. There isn't much reward for being a frequetn poster or long time poster. Personally this is how I think it should be for "rewards".

< 30 posts - junior member
less than 30 posts you are only a junior member

< 100 posts - member
more than 29 and less than 100 posts you are a member

< 500 posts or 1 year registration - senior member
more than 99 and less than 500 posts you are a senior member or by being a member for at least one year

>= 500 posts and min 6 month registration- special member
more than 499 posts and must be a member for at least 6 months

-only senior members and above should be able to have avatars
-only special members should be able to have custom titles

Well, at least sumpin along those lines. Then again all in all it doesn't really matter, and either way I'm going to go in with my life happily lol...

Believe me, there is no major kudos from being a frequent poster if the post quality is zero or worse. There are/have been several people here to whom a "high post count" is desirable and have spammed the board relentlessly to acheive it.

The limit was lowered with the idea that people spam the board just to get to a 400 post break point, which is something they do frequently. A lower limit means less spam, or at least that's a theory.

If people didn't spam to get the custom title, then yes, I agree a higher limit as a "reward" would be a better idea. But they do... so....

See if there is a minimum length of registration (i.e. 6 months) then there wouldn't be any real incentive in spamming. Even if the person does decide to spam the board they will have to still remain a member for quite a while before they can even get any of the special incentives. I don't see what's wrong with that.
