    I want to quit because I get a big high, but then I crash and its just the opposite effect (I get really low and tired and I want to sleep after school instead of doing my work).

    Coffee is just as addictive as many other hard drugs fyi.

    Coffee as addictive maybe but not as effective as a hard-drug (btw marihuana isnt a hard drug). I mean its not like this=>
    Drink a cup of coffee
    :: 15 minutes later::
    KO
    I'm just curious but whos parents over here (when your a kid) forbid you to drink coffee.
    And if your a parent, do you forbid your kids to drink coffee under a certain age ?

    Because ive got a slight feeling that (IMO although) lots of those who are against coffee are raised with the principle
    =>coffee is bad<=

    coffee is bad because it is very addictive. When I dont' have it, I get headaches, and I get groggy and cannot concentrate on anything. As beege said, my brain does not work without coffee. It's hard to withdraw from it. I'm drinking only 1-2 per day, and I don't plan on having more than that.

    EDIT: and yes my parents forbade me to drink it because they told me it's bad, but they couldn't really stop me because they are both big time coffee drinkers. My dad says he doesn't even get a high off of it anymore, it just makes him 'not go low'.

    I really like a cup of coffee to go with morning lectures. But after I have had one I lose any inclination to drink it till the next day. And certainly not in the evening. Then I don't sleep too well. Now tea on the other, I drink plenty of that.

    So could it be that the statement coffee is bad is being rown in ur youth.
    When i was young nobody told me dont drink coffee. When i wanted coffee then i took it.
    And getting high of coffee.... dont believe that.
    The only time i got high of coffee was when we were sailing to the UK and there was a storm on sea. But ive never felt bad after a cup of coffee.

    coffee is evil!!! especialy a 12 shot cafe americano at 10 at night!! followed by a toffe nut latte and a 2 liter of vinilla coke,

    you'll feel like $$$$ the next morning!
    if a contradiction was contradicted would that contradition contradict the origional crontradiction?

    And that's why people drink it - it's got caffeine in it, which is a drug. So? It's a chemical. I eat things because the chemicals in it make it taste good. I drink caffeinated beverages because they wake me up a little and they taste good, as well.

    Anyone tried those bottled Frappucino things? The caramel ones are great (except really expensive)

    Hey, As long as you just drink it for the nice taste and waking
    up a little it's oke, But there are certain coffee addicts that just
    scare me.
