>>> (I guess most expensive)
Round the world yacht racing?
>>> Takes lots of time of lots of people
It's their time, if they want to spend it doing something they like, what's the problem?
>>> takes lots of space
Less space then a golf course for example.
>>> time of media
Who cares about that! If they weren't reporting on a cricket match, they'd be out creating trouble somewhere else.
>>> England needs the win against Australia.
Yes they do. I was reading Nasser Hussein's comments about the way to beat Australia, and that England would take the game to the Aussies. I had a smile on my lips when I read it.
So I open the BBC's ball-by-ball service and found England are taking the game to the Aussies by collapsing majestically after a rather fine start - odd, I don't remember Nasser saying anything about that in the plan!
England 204 for 8 off 50
Australia 0 for 0 off 0 *** yet to win sorry, I mean bat ***
Andy Bichel is 7 for 20 of his 10, what a performance.
Got to go out now, no more updates for the time being, expect game to be over by the time I get back, so I'll add "Congratulations Australia" now.

>Not even when Holland are playing? I think the Holland v
>Namibia game on Monday will be quite entertaining.
When Holland is playing, perhaps there will be a few minutes of the game on TV in the sport program in the evening. But most of the time will be on soccer and some other more popular sports here. Sometimes, especially when Champions League games are played (soccer), whole evenings are filled with soccer.
There are other Dutch sportpeople who don't get very much time on TV when they have to play. For some strange reason darts has become a very popular sport here on TV. Recently there were many, many hours spent on dartgames. Embassy, Dutch Open etc.
I think it has to do with money. Sports that aren't popular don't attract many people looking at the sport program, so advertisers won't be interested in the program. Cricket isn't very popular here, I really wonder how many people in the Netherlands know about cricket. The same is with the Dutch baseball team and other not very popular sports.

England r gonna win Ade.
114-7 off 31.5..... Aussies need 91 with 3 wickets remaining and we got 18 overs to get those wickets!
-
Sensational game - real drama. 6 overs left now, req run rate still 5. Whilst Michael Bevan is there they have chances.
-
The Criket world cup, have computer geeks really sunk this low (myself included) :):confused:
-
23 off 24 balls needed - I can't watch!!!
I don't like the way Nasser is changing the bowlers around, gives Flintoff one over then off again and back to Ashley Giles. Same for Andy Caddick.
17 off 18...
14 off 12...
Why on Earth did he give the ball to Anderson????? Already very expensive, and now likely to loose the game for us.
-
damn that michael bevan. Great innings on a bowlers track!
-
*shakes head in confusion*
-
So the Aussies win. I cannot understand why Anderson was given the ball when Caddick, or even Vaughan were less likely to concede runs.
Well done Australia.
-
Well done the Aussies.
Another monumental cock-up from the england boys.... 2 overs left. we send anderson on to bowl. Our most newbie expensive bowler. Michael bevan hit his first 2 balls for a six and a four. Flintoff bowled last over. first ball drops a c&b chance. 2nd ball is misfielded by vaughn and aussies get a run they shouldnt bringing bevan back on strike. Bevan boshes flintoff for 4 winning match.
Firing squad for Nasser Hussein now. Awful captaincy late in match and a stunning innings of 1. Why hasnt he dropped himself for the good of the team.

Sorry this is about cricket. Yanks cant seem to understand it. There is a link on the other cricket thread, that i posted that will go a long way to explaining the game.
-
I used to bowl mostly, and I always hated coming on for a single over, it takes a few balls to get properly loose again and to get your line and length right. What ever was going through Husseins brain? He should have bowled out Flintoff and Caddick when he switched, then let Ashley Giles on again at the end.
As you say SC that was a cock up of olympic proportion. Hussein should be out of a job.

good to see soccer is starting to take off in USA since soccer world cup where usa did exceptionally well. In fact we have several yanks playing regular first team football in the premiership in the uk now.
