Before I was "shown the light" and became interested in C++, my main hobby / computer skill was making flash sites. Yes, the type cheez deems annoying But I still prefer flash over Java or dhtml because of sheer capability in terms of aesthetics. As for load time, i'd say on average, 85% of bandwidth is used on downloading sound / bitmap information. Truly professional flash developers use minimal amounts of sound / bitmap. I guess thats an obvious technique but thats so under-emphasized. Sites that are made like that load as if it was html.

And one other thing, if you know flash, ull understand that its GREAT showoff material! Compared to VB, its just as easy, and so much better looking!

From my dial-up days, I grew a dislike for Flash and wasteful graphics. I still get annoyed when I see a Flash intro--completely worthless. I want information, content, not some flashy graphics. I would still like it if Web designers used dynamic HTML because that's standards; Flash is Macromedia's proprietary stuff.

There's a pretty big difference between a 10K gif logo and a 1 meg site intro. I think that's what he meant.

Hes sounded i bit more extreme i think, A flash intro isn't really
welcome sometimes, But calling it extremely worthless...
Some people just like to nice sites.

I think terminator site looked great.

So, I guess everything has its place. Like everything else I suppose-avoid overkill.
    Such is life.
