I really can't think of anything.. you'd have to send it as an attachment on the e-mail and for that you'd need the entire file, unless you somehow stream it from the source to the e-mail server. hrm... maybe I should look into this, it's a good project. hehe

not that I know of... you usually download to a location... which I guess technically could be your inbox... but what address would that be at? And how would you redirect the download?
you can send it somewhere easily....you just need to learn the tcp/ip protocol and get the addresses you need, hell you could send it straight home if you wanted it, skipping the whole email step. (you're d/l ing at work riht and want to send it home?)
only problem is they probably monitor network traffic, be wary.

Let's talk about SAX
Nope. Dont' wana send it home. I'm surfing the net from work. But want to send the download directly to my inbox. they can't scan my inbox due to privacy policies(I'll sue them). So yea, I want it sent to my inbox so that the mail server can dl it and I receive it in my mailbox

Why don't you just download whatever you wanted onto a disk, CD, or just do it from home?
Hello!!!!! There's actually a reson I'm downloading from work. could It be because we have 4x512k ISDN lines and only a 56k modem at home?
somehow I don't think 600 megs is gonna fit on a disk. No cd writerwhatever you wanted onto a disk

it would fit on a hard disk...
ok, maby I staed my point a bit wrong. the downloads may not come to my pc directly through the proxy server. But maby the file can be redirected to out nt_mail server to download it and when it is done mail it to my inbox at work

So your company won't think anything of you receiving a 700 MB attachment?

doh!!! No. that will be the combined size of all the files. Each sent seperately

I'm assuming your work has a firewall to prevent p2p downloading, much like my coillege does. You have to consider the fact that this policy is in effect not because they are dicks, but rather several reasons. One is that even though they have a high speed connection, bandwidth is limited. I experienced this firsthand when our school had the firewall down, and soon downloads dropped from 140kb/s to 1.5kb/s!!
Basically, what is it you want to download? There are several groups on the internet that will download something for you and burn it to CD for $5 per disc I think, or something like that. If you are trying to get linux discs, there was an ad on www.distrowatch.org for a site that will send you any distro for just the cost of shipping.
Are they actually preventing you from downloading or just scanning???
I don't think the mail server will work b/c it limits the size of each email attachment and especially overall storage per account.

This program will allow you to connect to a site and download in segments, up to 4 which also makes the download faster, not sure if that will fool the scanners - depends on how sofisticated they are.

How many hard drives do you have in your work comp and how many does its mobo support? Just take a HDD to work, take out the side case panel, set the HDD's jumper settings, plug it into everything, set it up in the BIOS, transfer the files, take it out and you're done!
Scanning at the moment. Maby prevent as well. I've recevived mail of about 30MB each. as far as I knw, we don't have alimit on the size of our emails. Are they actually preventing you from downloading or just scanning???
I have download accelerator at work but for some reason it wont work.
I changed all the option so that it should work with our firewall & proxyserver
