I don't know Chinese but spending the last 2 years in Okinawa I've found that learning it is very hard without a good teacher. So I would say that learning on the web would be very very hard

I know chinese, but I don't know where you can learn it online. However, if you totally don't know anything about Chinese, then I think it would be extremely hard to learn it on the net.
