So much for prison sentences being considered a repayment of debt to society. The man should be free to do whatever he pleases without his past standing before him.
IMO his past is one more reason for them to NOT ban him, he offers much knowledge and insight to what they are trying to accomplish!
I disagree to a point. When a convicted child molester gets out of jail they don't let them work in a day care do they?Originally posted by minesweeper

My take is that it is to do with the likelihood of reoffending. I don't think that a paedophile or a child molester will actually change. I'm not a doctor so I don't know for sure but I think that is just the way they are. A sentence won't remove their desire to commit that crime. But someone who hacks into servers for thrills I don't see as being a future threat after being jailed for x number of years. The thought of going back would be enough to make him see sense and I don't think hacking servers is a deep rooted natural desire that he has to fufill.
Personally, I would give him a chance, because if I was him, I would want to do the same thing. I'm sure there are some other people somewhere out there who feel the same way about this issue.

It's a private group, right? They can deny access to whomever they want.

of course, but should they is the question. Who probably brings more too the table then 98% of them, and i think the benifits and publicity much out-weigh the cons(np pun intended).Originally posted by Govtcheez

He's been out of the game for years. The security field is completely different than it was when he was in.

Yes but if you remember he has kept on top of it, even without a pc. Besides more than 75% of all takes use OLD methods with a new twist or two.Originally posted by Govtcheez

So on top of things that he's been hacked twice recently? Man, maybe he should practice what he preaches
I just don't understand what the big deal is. It's a private group, and if they want to deny him access, it's their loss.

I agree that its a loss, i just wonderd why they wouldn't want that publicity. I can believe he was hacked, its not impossible to hack anything, anywhere, and never will be.
